Laguna~B Library
2023
Laguna~B is a venetian company that has has successfully reinterpreted Murano’s glassmaking tradition through a contemporary and conscious lens. With the opening of its concept store in Venice, the goal was not just to create a retail space, but a community hub that goes beyond commerce.
From this vision takes place Laguna~B Library: a cultural space curated by studio bruno, where the community can borrow and discover a selection of over 200 books/volumes about environment, photography and new social pratices.
Under the creative direction of bruno, the challenge was to design a visual identity that reflects the open and dynamic soul of the library. Instead of choosing a traditional and static logo, we had create a visual system inspired by editorial history and by the space function. The core of the identity is represented from a series of 22 personalized ex libris.Inspired by the stamps of Gutemberg’ era, these graphic signs are the results of research that mix illustration and typography. Each stamp marks the volumes of the collection, identifying ownership in a playful and ever-changing way.
To complete the user experience I realized Book Cards, loan tracking cards designed to be transformed into bookmarks and a series of coordinated tote bags.
The result is a tactile and functional communication system, where graphic design does more than just decorate, it organizes and enlivens the dialogue between the books and the visitors.
